The European Space Agency Concurrent Design Facility (ESA CDF), where RHEA provides support for more than a decade, won the TCeurope Honours Award 2013 for outstanding services to technical communication. TCeurope, an umbrella organisation for technical communication in Europe, awards this prize every two years to recognise the work of European professionals in the field of technical communication.

RHEA opened on 1 May a new office in Harwell, United Kingdom, a focal point for the UK’s rapidly growing space community. With the addition of this office, RHEA continues its steady growth with six offices in Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, and Canada.

About 200 guests participated in a football tournament at the European Space Agency (ESA) premises in Noordwijk, The Netherlands, on Saturday 20 April, to raise funds for sustaining a school and developing energy facilities in Nosy Komba, an island close to Madagascar. RHEA was the main sponsor of this event.

ESA inaugurated the Space Weather Service Coordination Centre (SSCC) that will serve as the central access point to space weather services and expertise. The SSCC was designed in the precursor Space Weather Services contract, for which RHEA was the prime contractor for ESA.

RHEA has been awarded a contract to provide engineering services to support the GSA in the exploitation of Galileo and EGNOS. The contract initially set duration is four years,  and its estimated value is 7 M€.

A tailored version of RHEA’s MOIS software is used by CNES, the French national space agency, for the preparation and validation of the manual and automatic procedures that control the spacecraft’s flight control, rendezvous, docking and re-entry manoeuvres.
