MOIS Library
Library is a MOIS tool that provides configuration control for all mission data stored and created within MOIS. It maintains a coherent "library" of all the data, providing management in two areas:
Library supports functions to set up the multi-user working environment, categorise and group procedures and timelines, set a baseline for an issue of the procedure library and roll back to earlier versions in the event of problems.
Library allows an item (project or procedure) to be "checked out" of the library for exclusive use, so that modifications can be made using one of the other MOIS tools, then checked back in to the library where it is available again for other users.
All the users of a project have access to data held in the library, with different levels of authorisation. Engineers have restricted access to parts of the library - for instance, they might only be able to check out those timelines or procedures that they are responsible for maintaining. The MOIS Library Administrator has access to all configuration-controlled mission data and is responsible for maintaining its overall coherency and consistency as well as the user access rights.
In practice Library is integrated with the other MOIS tools to such an extent that configuration control is automatic and virtually transparent for the user.
