We are currently looking for several System Engineer who can provide support to the system engineering activities of The GSA. This position is based in the following locations:
- Toulouse, France
- Prague, Czech Republic
Galileo is Europe’s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), providing improved positioning and timing information with significant positive implications for many European services and users. The objective of this role is to support the ground segment engineering activities.
Tasks and Activities
The scope of work will include:
- Contribute to the technical management of the system and segment infrastructure evolution activities.
- Support the system development follow up, system qualification and acceptance activities.
- Participation to system anomaly review board UNCLA/CLA and contribution to the analysis of system anomalies in terms of requirements affected and potential impact on services.
- Analyse requirements traceability from mission level (MRD), down to GSRD and segment requirements to confirm compliance to Exploitation, Mission and Security requirements
- Prepare the acceptance milestone internally in the GSA and in close coordination with external partners.
- Contribute to trade-offs at GSA level between different deployment and migration approach scenarios, ensuring GNSS service continuity during migration activities.
- Prepare for, participate and represent the GSA in relevant boards if so requested by the GSA on a case by case basis providing a specific mandate, such as Change Control Boards, from the system and infrastructure point of view.
- Analyse changes to be implemented in the system in operation and provide an assessment of their adequacy and impact on the system qualification.
- Produce and maintain up-to-date the physical architecture diagrams to reflect the actual status of the system deployed and operated.
Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- Master’s Degree in Aerospace, Engineering or a relevant technical domain
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in system engineering activities with demonstrated experience in Galileo.
- Experience in operations and/or deployment of a complete satellite lifecycle and System Engineering methods and tools.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English.
- Organised, dynamic and proactive.
- Security clearance (EU Secret) will be necessary, therefore only nationals of the EU countries will be considered for this role.
- Ability to travel on missions when needed to other locations.
