We are currently looking for a HR Advisor to work in our offices in the city of Wavre, Belgium.

The HR Advisor will join the HR operations team, which is responsible for the delivery of all HR transactional actions and the operational side of HR, including but not limited to payroll, all compensation & benefits and related processes and procedures. The team takes care of all joiners, leavers and contractual changes and the subsequent HR actions coming out of these. As an international company with many expats and relocators working in numerous locations, the team also has a key focus on Global Mobility including ensuring relevant tax obligations are met where necessary.

The HR operations team is the first port of call for Employees questions and requirements, as well as supporting managers in their day to day transactional needs and the HR Advisor plays a pivotal part within that team.  He/She will collaborate diverse C&B and data-driven HR projects across multiple European countries such as Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, UK, Czech Republic, Italy, The Netherlands and Luxembourg as well as Canada internationally. The HR Advisor will work closely with the HR Payroll and Data Specialists and support the HR Operations Manager in delivering key operational tasks and projects.

Tasks and Activities

The scope of work will include:

  • Manage the administration of all Compensations & Benefits related tasks including the updating of the C&B database and guidelines, managing Employee benefits actions on a monthly basis (meal vouchers, insurances, pensions, etc.), manage the administration of vendor & suppliers contracts and invoices, lead the administration and implementation of the yearly salary review process, participate in salary benchmarking and R&D activities.
  • Handle various aspects of our Global Mobility: work permit applications, relocation support, deal with tax and legal questions, salary splits and secondments.
  • Provide and review salary data – leading the annual salary review process project, assist in Payroll Audits, operate as a back up for payroll as necessary.
  • Manage employee questions linked to their employment, reply to questions from recruitment on legal legislation and employee contracts. Support the HR Administrator in drafting contract templates and be the backup for contracts administration in their absence.
  • Understand the business’ operational HR requirements and work with the team to translate them to design processes and procedures.
  • Project management related tasks, such as drafting, implementing and optimizing new HR tools, assisting on issues such as social elections, collective labour agreements.
  • Work on international projects regarding Compensation & Benefits and you have good cooperation with other RHEA Group Corporate Services departments.

Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specific experience plus a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in payroll or HR operations.
  • Having at least one of the following;
    • Knowledge of payroll and social and labour law legislation related to payroll on a European level (ie more than one country).
    • Knowledge of employee benefits (such as group insurance plans, health insurance. etc) in different European countries.
    • Global Mobility knowledge.
  • Strong numerical skills and advanced knowledge of Excel is mandatory.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills and ability to build trust.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Customer (internal) and solution-oriented.
  • Organized and structured worker with natural attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proactivity and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is preferable.

The following skills would be highly desirable:

  • Knowledge of other European language.
