We currently recruiting a Software QA Engineer to support the cyber-security team. You will have the opportunity to work in a challenging environment with state-of-the-art technologies within the cyber-security and Infrastructure as a Service domains.

As a software tester, you will be involved in the quality assurance stage of software development and deployment of our cyber-security solutions. You will conduct automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose.

Position is open for permanent contract.

This position can be based in any of the countries where RHEA has a Security development team (Belgium, Netherlands, Italy and Czech Republic), but other arrangements are negotiable.

Tasks and Activities

The scope of work will include:

  • Contribute to the research and development of a new set of cyber-security related products.
  • Collaborate in the review, analysis and production of system specifications.
  • Collaborate with other SW and QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans.
  • Design and execute test cases/test plans (manual or automated), analyse and document results.
  • Evaluate product according to specifications.
  • Document testing phases and defects.
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams.
  • Help troubleshoot issues to support root cause analysis.
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Perform bugfix validation activities.
  • Planning and execution of E2E testing for product critical regression path.

Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a QA tester or similar role (minimum 3 years).
  • Experience with user and system requirements refinement.
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors.
  • A good understanding of the software development process.
  • Working knowledge of test management software.
  • Test plan/test cases development experience.
  • Experience in test planning and estimation.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling similar to Jenkins, gitlab-ci.
  • Understanding of HTML, XML, HTTP, and related web technologies.
  • Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Basic Networking and OSI Model understanding.
  • Understanding of complex distributed systems (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS etc.).
  • Understanding of virtualized and containerized environments.
  • Strong Linux user experience.
  • Coding skills to solve simple tasks (Java/JS/Python etc).
  • Experience with Version Control System (GIT).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team working, good analytic and problem solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.

Some of the following skills would be highly desirable, in order of priority:

  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban etc).
  • Knowledge of SysML/UML.
  • Integration testing experience (REST, SOAP).
  • QA Automation experience (API, Selenium WD, ProtractorJS etc.).
