Description

In order to support several Sentinel missions (Sentinel 1, 2, 3 & 5p), the post-launch engineer will provide necessary engineering support for monitoring, maintaining & optimising the satellite(s) performance throughout their lifetime(s), until conclusion of each mission.

Tasks and Activities
  • Coordination of interface with Post Launch Support (PLS) partners and with Management.

  • Support to the Operations Team.

  • Performing technical review, analysis, synthesis & reporting of satellite(s) Performance & Anomalies

  • Respond to Satellite warnings and anomalies coordinating technical experts and investigation team.

  • Manage on-call lists for satellite mission support.

  • Assess the on-orbit performance of the assigned satellite.

  • Manage interactions with external organizations (e.g. Industries, Other ESA teams, Operations Team).

Skills and Experience
  • MSc in Engineering or in other relevant technical/scientific field.

  • Min 10 years engineering working experience in the space sector (Satellite Operations, Spacecraft Development (including Project Engineering, Equipment/Subsystem Procurement, Assembly Integration & Test)

  • Min 3 years of experience working as a System Engineer or with a System Coordination function.

  • Direct experience working on either Sentinel 1,2,3 or 5p satellites or their payloads could be an advantage.

  • Capability to support the management without generating additional workload.

  • Priority management, excellent understanding of priorities in the tasks assigned and for the other team members.

 

Preference will be given to candidates eligible for an EU or national personal security clearance at the level of SECRET or above.
