As part of the Operations Architecture team, you will have the opportunity to work as a Software Engineer for Satellite Operations and to contribute to SPELL related tasks. SPELL (Satellite Procedure Execution Language and Library) is a free, open source software package which was conceived in order to automate the execution of satellite procedures.

Tasks and Activities
  • Support the development of SPELL bus (platform) operation procedures for the new satellite

  • Verify and test SPELL satellite operation procedures with dynamic satellite simulators (DSS) and with new innovative automated verification tools (SPELL-fuzz)

  • Develop software features to expand capabilities of the new innovative automated verification approach for SPELL satellite operation procedures (SPELL-fuzz)

  • Develop Squish automated GUI regression test procedures for the new satellites and their hifly7 Ground Control System (GCS)

  • Evaluation of Fleet Dashboard open source packages

  • Document design solutions and test results

  • Work in innovation project team with satellite engineers, operation architects, and experts

Skills and Experience
  • You have an University degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related disciplines

  • You have at least of 1 year of experience and strong interest in software development

  • You have strong experience with software related disciplines: Python, C++, GUI testing, HTML5, MySQL

  • You have experience and/or strong motivation to extend knowledge in satellite operations related disciplines

  • You are experienced in Eclipse Integrated Development Environment and Microsoft Office Suite

  • You have experience in working with Linux and Windows Operating Systems

  • You have experience in working with SPELL satellite operation procedures would be a strong asset

  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills

  • You have a good analytical and problem solving skills

  • You are able to set priorities and to work under tight deadlines

  • You are able to work both in a team and independently as required

  • You are a quick learner

  • You are fluent in English (oral and written)

  • You hold an EU Nationality and a work permit for Luxembourg


Preference will be given to candidates eligible for an EU or national personal security clearance at the level of SECRET or above.
