RHEA Group is currently recruiting a Thermal System Engineer to support Thermal Control Section at our client’s premises in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.

Tasks and Activities
  • You will be providing support to the Agency in the thermal engineering (design, analysis and verification area) related to the sections thermal control activities.

  • You will be providing support to ESA projects, including CDF activities, interface with the project team, interfacing – if requested – with the industrial team, participating in progress meetings and reviews, as requested by project work, and providing appropriate feedback on the achieved progress and discussions.

  • You will be supporting the thermal control activities (project support and R&D activities) of the Section in the area of his/her specialization.

  • You will be building geometrical and thermal models, performing relevant analyses, evaluating critically the results and issuing relevant documentation covering all work performed.

  • You will be supporting the maintenance and upgrading of thermal mathematical models.

  • You will be supporting thermal verification test campaigns for ongoing ESA projects by performing/reviewing test procedures, test predictions and test correlations and attend the tests if required.

  • You will be supporting ESA project reviews.

  • You will be supporting European standardization activities

  • You will be making regular progress reports.

  • You will be providing adequate documentation, covering all tasks above.

Skills and Experience
  • You have PhD or Msc Engineering from a recognised Institution of secondary studies (University, Ecole supérieure, etc.) or equivalent.

  • You have a very good background and experience in thermal modelling and analysis as well as thermal spacecraft design and verification.

  • You have a very good background and knowledge of spacecraft system aspects.

  • You have a very good background and experience with the Agency’s thermal analysis tools, e.g. ESATAN-TMS

 

Preference will be given to candidates eligible for an EU or national personal security clearance at the level of SECRET or above.
